I am on my way to Malibu for the day to write and read by myself. I am very excited for that! I have been reading ‘The Rum Diary’ and it’s making me want to travel, explore and write. I have been working crazy hours on two new feature length scripts. Finishing my short film made me want to shoot again and SOON! I have a really cool project lined up this summer in Detroit, so keep checking back about that! Here is a picture of Mark and Vinnie standing in as paparazzi for my film ‘History of Made up Things’ taken by fellow actor Tanner Beard.

I have a really fun commercial I will be shooting soon with some awesome ladies, as well as a body paint photo shoot! I might have to get scantily clad for that one and participate…too much fun to miss out on! As long as I’m painted gold, I’m in. So much going on and big changes for Burn One. I will begin the process of editing this week. I am also releasing some stunning pictures of my actors so holler back youngin’ Aight??!! Here’s a pic of my casting director Catherine King in the room we lived in for weeks, while casting HOMUT.

My newest short film has been shot! This project started as a writing assignment for a class I took at nights for fun in Glendale over two years ago. My teacher told me to expand it and I threw it in a drawer for a year. Looking back at what the script has turned into after countless rewrites, is really crazy to grasp. I had booked a motel in Malibu a while back to edit the story with my dear writer friend Hayley Roberts. We went crazy out there writing and exploring. From there, I started drafting with my lead actor Kent Karson for over a year! I am so thankful to have the patience of him as well as the team behind this project. I’m certain, it will be worth the wait!

Our crew was unreal. I have never been with a more pleasant, hardworking, fun group on set in my life! It went by so fast. Nothing better than kicking it with the homies and making movies. My producing team Phil Jessen and Mark Mallorca are two of the best friends and people I know. They worked so hard for so long! Shout out to my director of photography Richard Martinez and our associate producer Analigital as well!

Our cast blew it out of the water. Our leads, Eli Jane and Kent Karson are two of my favorite people in the world. They are so talented and fun to be around. All the other supporting cast of actors really brought a lot to this film and I can’t wait to work with all of them again soon!

There are too many pictures, stories and people to shout out at once. So to celebrate, I am going to be adding a new picture each day this week! New highlights and links each time!!! So come back tomorrow. Today, I’m busy with the clothing line. Burn One will be cleaning out our store with a huge sale very very soon! New line on the way. I am planning a really cool new campaign that requires a little traveling and a lot of new faces! More on that mystery soon! Until man-yan-a:), peace love and bop bay bay! -Ash

This is what my 1st A.D. told me a few days ago in a meeting we were having. Time to shut down my life for the next two weeks and make my masterpiece happen! For those of you that don’t know, I am shooting my short film in 8 days. I’m excited for the excuse to disappear and get really creative. It’s an intense buzz to be this focused. This is a pic with some of my work boards behind me, most likely putting my phone on silent! haha.

I was cleaning out this loft downtown all day yesterday. Reminded me of the years I spent in art department. It was so fun. I had a dance party of one blasting Wutang and scrubbing the location down. Let me tell you…my short film is going to be hot! Smooches to everyone who is involved! I have been at the loft all day today too. Just sucking up the space and wrapping my head around everything coming my way. Here’s a pic post- clean fest!

This is my lead actor Kent Karson preparing for his role as a photographer, in Burn One’s ‘The History of Made Up Things’. He shot model Hannah Landberg and they both rocked it out! Couldn’t have asked for a better day. I will be meeting with Kent, and our leading lady Eli Jane this Monday to rehearse. Hope everyone got sizzlin on Cinco De Mayo. I am excited to take tonight off! Peep back again soon. And visit our STORE! We need you more than ever!

I have fallen in love all over again……with where I am from. I recently went back to MI to attend an amazing wedding. I was able to see some of my oldest friends when I was back. Between catching up with my family and rioting the streets of A2, I also managed to sneek into Detroit. The city is very still. An urban crisis has burnt it down. But I refuse to preach about what is wrong and horrible about Detroit. I saw a city that just needs a little noise again.
I say we take the place that created the automobile and make it green! I am tired of people being afraid to walk downtown. I will tell you right now, I was deep in the ghetto and all I found were nice people who could use a good day once in a while. This is a photo I took of an old TV and a striped down Cadillac. Reminds me of THESE! More on Detroit soon!

It was right back to work, after my quick trip. I have finished casting my short film that starts in 2 weeks!! I held the castings on my birthday, which was really fun! My lead actress, Eli Jane, is gorgeous and brilliant. I can’t wait to work with her. I also helped my dear friend Diana Cruz with her project for BOP BLOG yesterday on the studio lot. She has some awesome things in store with that, and I’m so proud to be a part of her baby. This is a pic of Miss Cruz hard at work.

Today, I went to an incredible event in Malibu for the California Wildlife Center. Burn One has donated 5% of our clothing sales to the center for over 3 years. My friend Jeff Hall helped run the event, and his hard work at the center shows. This is a picture of Pamela Anderson receiving street cred for her work with CWC!
I have a lot more stuff coming up with my short film, so keep checking back. This isn’t even half of what has been happening with B.O.P. lately! Kisses to all the supportive people in my life. It’s the little things. Peace Love and Burn One.
