I have been studying a lot of photographers and reading a lot of acting books to prepare directing my upcoming short film.  There is an interesting quote I can’t get out of my head by Annie Lebowitz (photographer).  She said, “It’s actually smaller than a moment.  It’s in between the moments, it’s so small”  She was able to creatively capture a lot in this small space she speaks of with her photographs.  I’m finding more and more that the less you force on an image or scene, the more you catch these little interactions that speak volumes.  This is the deepest you will ever hear me sound on this blog..haha!  Wow, I have been studying too much, right!!!!!  The photos above are taken by one of my favorite photographers and an inspiration to me, Marta Alvira-Hammond.  Wanna hear what she thinks about the world?  Go to http://malvond.wordpress.com

Here is a new shot I did of Hannah Landberg with my precious 35 mm camera in Malibu.  I have been waiting for the prints back and once again decided I LOVE SHOOTING FILM!  I wish I had all the money in the world so I could just shoot only on film.  I am shooting her for a movie I am working on tomorrow and that will be the final day before we start post on it.   I know the economy is bad and everyone is scared, but today I decided to stop worrying about it!  If I quit doing what I love because of money and fear of failure, I wouldn’t have had a company to begin with!  I wish all the best in these tough times.  Be smart.  Be happy.

I have been editing all day long!  I wrapped a new shoot with Hannah Landberg this week.  It was so much fun.  I am waiting to show you guys the real pictures because I shot some on film that I haven’t gotten back yet.  This is a cute outtake of Hannah in between setups in Malibu.  Lots of good ones to come!  Don’t forget to check out our store and support us.  We need you guys!  Much love!

Hannah Landberg is back in LA.  She was our 2008 Cover Model!  It is so nice to have my friend back and Burn One is so proud of all the work she did in China!  I saw her and Casey Peters (Miss Nov) and Zoe Borges (Miss Oct) last night!  Was great to hang with my ladies.  Also hung with my Burn One Boys!  Lots of familar faces from our projects, last night.

We will be retiring a lot of our designs so make sure you grab your gear before it’s gone.  I have an exciting shoot this Saturday.  I’ll update that very soon!  Nighty night!

I finally slept a full night of sleep last night which is rare and it felt amazing! I am excited it’s Monday, I have a full week of stuff to do. I will also be going snowboarding on Friday which is super cool. This is a photo of Diana And I at the people’s choice award. It was awesome and we met a lot of very impressive people that night..quite inspiring. The pic is a little bad quality wise because it is from a camera phone!

Diana was working the red carpet press line while Candice Moran (Miss July of our 2009 Calendar) mingled with the producers of ‘HOUSE’, without even knowing it until they won the award for best show! Fun night. I am excited for a busy week of work and some play mixed in. If you haven’t already, check out our store. We need your love and support! Here is another pic of my dear friend Phil Donohue shooting model Catherine King.  He and I will be meeting up Sunday to work over my short film script together.  I always think it’s good to have other directors  read my stuff.  They are usually the most brutally judgmental!  I’m excited to see him and convince him to stay by cooking him some soul food.  More soon.  Busy weekend and lots more to share with you all soon!
